Meet our Kinkajou coaches in our quick-fire chats about what inspired us to become coaches.
What inspired you to become a coach?
Having seen the transformational impact of leadership coaching over the years, I believe that most people in leadership positions, particularly those new to managing people, would benefit from coaching.
I became a coach to support positive change in impacting individuals' development, which ultimately has a knock-on effect in nurturing inclusive and high-performing working environments where people can thrive.
What led you to specialise in the area that you concentrate on?
From first-hand experience, I’ve seen the impact of both good and ineffective leadership. I’m passionate about coaching leaders to shift their mindsets, develop their adaptability and embed learning for the positive impact of their teams and performance of the business. Having been a People Director and an Equity, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) lead within professional sport this underpins my approach to coaching too.
What are you reading or listening to for fun right now?
Compilation of country music my daughter put together. She’s been studying in a rural part of the US where country music is everywhere- ‘hella country’ as she describes it.
Describe yourself in three words;
Resilient, energetic, and emotionally intelligent.
What is the most important lesson life has taught you?
Prioritise your health and well-being. Maintain balance in your life, both in and outside work. Have fun. Ultimately, this pays off in so many positive ways in all areas of your life.
What's the best advice you've ever had?
Stop comparing yourself to other people. Be you.
What brings you joy?
Spending time with family and friends, travelling, being active outdoors (tennis, rowing, cycling, hiking), and cooking are all good choices. It's even better to combine these.
