Kinkajou Limited Modern Slavery Statement

This statement, signed by our Founder, Nancy Maher, outlines the policies, processes, and actions Kinkajou Limited has implemented to reduce the risk of modern slavery and human trafficking within our supply chains and in our business. Globally, approximately 17.3 million people are trapped in forced labour exploitation within the private sector, according to the latest Global Estimates of Modern Slavery. This accounts for a significant portion of the 27.6 million individuals in forced labour overall.

1.Our Commitment

At Kinkajou Limited, we are committed to conducting business ethically and responsibly. While we are a micro business and not legally required to publish a modern slavery statement under the Modern Slavery Act 2015, we voluntarily choose to do so as part of our dedication to promoting transparency, fairness, and ethical practices in all aspects of our operations. We recognise the importance of addressing modern slavery and human trafficking and strive to ensure these practices have no place in our business or supply chains.

2. Our Organisation

Kinkajou Limited is a small business based in London, United Kingdom, providing consulting, leadership development and coaching services to companies globally. Our operations are limited to professional services, and our supply chains are minimal, primarily involving:

Software vendors.

Freelance associates.

Office suppliers.

Given the nature of our business, we operate in a low-risk sector for modern slavery. However, we remain vigilant and committed to ensuring ethical practices throughout our operations.

3. Policies

To support our commitment to preventing modern slavery, we have established the following policies:

Ethical Business Policy: Ensures all employees, associates, contractors, and suppliers adhere to ethical practices.

Supplier Code of Conduct: Requires suppliers to confirm compliance with anti-slavery laws.

Speak Up Policy: This policy provides a mechanism for associates and stakeholders to report concerns about unethical practices, including modern slavery.

These policies reflect our zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking.

4. Due Dilligence

We conduct due diligence on suppliers and contractors to ensure compliance with anti-slavery laws:

  • Require suppliers to confirm they do not engage in modern slavery or human trafficking.

  • Review supplier relationships periodically for compliance with ethical standards.

  • Include anti-slavery clauses in supplier contracts where applicable.

We verify associates' legal entitlement to work in the UK as part of our onboarding process.

5. Risk Assessment and Management

Given our small size and professional service focus, we assess the risk of modern slavery within our operations as low. However, we take proactive steps to mitigate risks:

Monitor supply chains for any changes that could introduce risks related to modern slavery.

Ensure all employees and associates understand their responsibility to act ethically and report concerns promptly.

6.  Training

We provide resources to associates on recognising signs of modern slavery and reporting concerns:

  • Ongoing guidance on ethical business practices through internal communications.

  • Use the Speak Up Policy and Feedback Form.

7. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

To measure the effectiveness of our efforts, we track:

  • The number of suppliers reviewed annually for compliance with anti-slavery standards.

  • Completion rates for associate training on modern slavery awareness.

  • Reports received through our Speak Up mechanism.

8. Future Actions

In the coming year, Kinkajou Limited will:

  1. Continue reviewing supplier relationships for compliance with anti-slavery standards.

  2. Identify more free training programmes for employees and associates on identifying and reporting unethical practices
